In collaboration with additional agencies serving individuals
who are Deaf/hard-of-hearing, B-GLAD strives to create innovative
approaches for developing, facilitating, and supporting numerous
projects. Projects are always under construction and review
with new ones being added as the need arises. Just to name

Work collaboratively with Kern County and Bakersfield
City Deaf Education Programs, Haven Counseling , and Kern
County Network for Children.

Assist in the development of recommendations for the
reform of systems serving individuals who are D/HH.

Facilitate the enactment of the Educational Interpreter
Standards Act.

Support the development and implementation of staff development
activities.

Collaborate with agencies in the development and, upon
request, implementation of the use of Deaf adult role
models in working with families and kids who are Deaf/hh.

Provide direct services in the form of consultation to
service providers.

Provide information, inservice training and referral
to appropriate service providers.

Provide Community Education.
