FAMILY EDUCATION   The Bakersfield Outreach of the Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness, Inc. Each child is a unique individual and there is no "magic formula" for raising a child with a hearing loss. It is important to maintain a positive attitude, educate yourself about the options and resources available and take an active role in your child's education. While it is beneficial to have the advice of professionals, you as parents will be making the major decisions about what is best for your child. Kits are available in English AND Spanish and include: Resource Guide American Sign Language instructional videos Curriculum Family Communication Kits are available for loan in both English and Spanish. Please contact Raquel.   FAMILY COMMUNICATION RESOURCE KIT Through generous funding provided by Kern Family Health Care, B-GLAD has developed the Family Communication Resource Kit for parents of Deaf or Hard of Hearing children in Kern County. The kit includes a Resource Guide, American Sign Language home instruction videos and curriculum to assist in developing family communication and language skills.
